- Run on the thread and lock the bead in place with thread turns.
- Catch in a length of yarn behind the bead and tie down along the shank.
- Bring the thread forward to the middle of the shank and tie in four strands of sili-legs. By their middle.
- Clip the yarn into a pair of hackle pliers which are heavy enough to allow you to let go of the yarn while arranging the legs.
- Make two turns of yarn at the back of the hook, pull down two legs and make two turns of yarn over them.
- Repeat working up the hook making turns of yarn onto the hook and then over a pair of legs to secure them in place.
- Tie in the yarn behind the bead and remove the waste.
- Smear the thread with varnish and whip finish.
- Gather all the legs together, pull straight up and trim to the same length.
